BtL’s Instant Alert service provides lone workers with the ability to raise an alarm in the case of an emergency such as an attack. BtL Instant Alert also allows you as a business to protect your field workers in line with UK lone worker legislation. Users can activate an alarm in an emergency simply by pressing a button on the side of the phone. When activated by a lone worker it raises the alarm with a contact centre or an appointed individual; the contact centre can then communicate to the person in the emergency. Even if the individual who raised the alarm is unable to communicate for any reason, the contact centre can still hear everything that is happening as the line between the mobile and the contact centre is still open as well as being recorded.

BtL’s Instant Alert service is immediate, as it is always connected to an open data channel on the mobile network giving users the fastest possible route to raising the alarm in the event of an incident. BtL‘s Instant Alert uses the data side of the mobile network instead of voice allowing your lone workers better coverage in locations that are known to have poor mobile voice connections. By using GSM mobile phone network the service provides almost unlimited coverage for users that have to cover large geographic locations. BtL’s Instant Alert uses location technologies such as GPS and A-GPS.

BtL’s other Push to Talk (PTT) applications are Instant Talk and Instant Locate.

Instant Talk: allows field workers to keep in constant contact with the office as well as other field workers. Instant talk works in a similar way to a two-way radio however the voice message is carried over your national data network in packets making voice messages secure and improving sound quality.

Instant Locate: these handsets have the ability to let you locate and communicate with your remote staff. BtL's instant locate shows where each field worker is on a Google map. BtL's Instant Locate also provides historical information on an employee’s movements i.e. a delivery driver delivering a package.
