Disaster Recovery There are many aspects to this often discussed but far less implemented area of business.

Dataquest have found 80% of businesses who have major ICT disaster go out of business within 18months.

Ask yourself the following questions:

  • What is my back up plan if my phone system dies and can’t be repaired quickly?

  • How should I take advantage of LLU?

  • Can I link my phone systems so if one has a fault the other will take over?

  • Do I have resilient IP or ISDN connections?

  • Would it be useful to have a call centre take our calls should we lose the building?

  • How can I enable my staff to easily work from home?

  • What would be the effect if I lost all or part of my corporate data?


If you don’t have an answer for these questions and a clear plan then you should talk to BtL. It doesn’t have to cost the earth to build resilience into your ICT and at the very least it should be a conscious decision not to implement not by default.
